Inspiration to Invitation 1 – A Mother’s Day Special

Blogging! Creating inspirational and interesting Blog posts and Newsletters isn’t as easy as it may seem {it probably isn’t as difficult as I make it either} but as there are so many blogs in cyberspace whose content is just packed full of “something to blog about” so when I created my Blog, I silently vowed it would be a serene place full of beauty and inspiration… So after a bit of thought and {procrastination} I thought I’d make the job easier on myself and create regular Features… and voila!! One of the first – Inspiration to Invitation’s was born…

Inspiration to Invitation is simple ~ 1. I choose a theme, 2. I create an Inspiration Board around that theme then 3. I design an Invitation taking inspiration from that Inspiration Board. This is generally the process I use to create many of my client’s invitations anyways – except these boards are slightly more special because I challenged myself to only take inspiration from suppliers/places that you can actually use here in the U.K!!

So as it is Mother’s Day next month {Sunday 3rd April} and my Mummy is a HUGE inspiration to me, I thought “what better way to start the first of my regular features than with A Mother’s Day Special…” So I thought of some of my Mummy’s favourite things {pink, jewelery, gardening/flowers, crystals and all things sparkly} as I put together this Inspiration Board.

1. Cake ~ by Maki’s Cakes
2. Bouquet ~ by Jamie Aston
3. Shoe ~ by Badgley Mischka
4. Dress ~ by Ian Stuart Bride
5. Jewelery ~ by The Jewelery Chateau
6. Groom’s Suit ~ by Marc Wallace

This Pocket Fold/Wallet Style Invitation is Cappucino, Chocolate and Dusky Pink and starts from £9.50 each. A subtle Ivory Pearlescent {colour chosen to reflect the stunning Ian Sturat Gown} cardstock was mounted on to a Chocolate cardstock then double mounted this onto a Cappucino Pocket Fold/Wallet. I took inspiration from the piping on Maki’s cakes and incorporated this into the Chandelier’esq’ design. The diamante’s add a wee bit of sparkle and the satin ribbon and gorgeous teardrop buckle {inspired by the ‘to die for’ Badgley Mischka shoes} add to the excitement and anticipation of receiving and opening the invitation.

I hope you like…

  1. These are absolutely beautiful. Don’t suppose you could tell me where you found the pink border? Bit cheeky I know but I’m planning to make our invites and have fallen in love with this design
